David toured with Farmer's Daughter in the fall and winter of '98, in his words, "they truly are Canada's hardest working band".

He e-mailed the following, for me to post when I asked him about The Daughters.

I started with the Daughters the day after the CCMA awards show/98, kind of by surprise, I was supposed to go to Vancouver with tapes of the next 2 shows, have a week to learn the material, then rehearse with them before my first show.

But in a perfect world, Fender would endorse me, everyone would pronounce the letter O like people from Ontario, and Danick Dupelle (the guitarist I was replacing) wouldn't have shown up in the lobby of the hotel the next day, with a broken wrist from a dance floor accident, and say to me... "You're in the show tomorrow night".

So I was thrown into the show the next night, along side of .Danick, playing acoustic with a cast on his picking hand.

  • A few of the highlights from when I was touring with the Daughter's would be.......Jake, Angela, & Shawna Rae, getting pulled over by 4 cruisers, and nearly arrested for throwing "movie money" all over the freeways of Vancouver, while shooting their video, "Freeway". the director Adam kept the camera rolling while the girls talked their way out of "going downtown" and some of the actual footage of this, made it into the video.

I was in the black BMW pulled over behind the girls in that shot.

We had several adventures on the tour bus, including breaking down in the mountains of B.C. On a show day, and being introduced to "Absolutely Fabulous" (the Daughters favorite show) which we would watch continuously on the tour bus. We did several national television performances, as well as toured, headlining theatres festivals and concerts across Canada, I also accompanied the Daughters on the Huron Carole tour and CBC television special, which started in Vancouver and ended in St. Johns, and was aired several times on CMT and CBC.

Some of these adventures are documented in the tour journal pages of November and December 1998 with photos and stories.
